GAME OVER: NFL Team WON'T HIRE Free-Agents Who KNEEL During Anthem

When NFL free agency starts on March 14, it appears that the Texans are going to actively avoid signing any players who have protested during the national anthem over the past two years.

Houston Texans owner Bob McNair made news last fall for having said of NFL players who protested racial injustice during the national anthem, "We can't have the inmates running the prison". Furthermore, the Texans coaching, personnel, ownership and executive staff hire the employees on the basis of character, talent, reliability and his fitness in the organization.

However, he backtracked on Tuesday and insisted that his comments had been "misconstrued" but conceded that he believes kneeling is an ineffective form of protest.

Trump has been sharply critical of the NFL's protests, and his comments at a rally in Alabama before Week 3, in which he advocated that teams fire "son of a b-" players who declined to stand during the anthem, sparked large demonstrations by players before games across the league.

"I've shared my opinion with all our players".

"I've shared my opinion with all our players: I'm passionate about the cause of social justice and I feel that kneeling is an ineffective tactic that alienates more people than it enlists", Ross said.

He said that if he had a chance to do it over, he would not have used the expression.

He basically drew a line in the sand of what he thought about the players protesting against police brutality and racism.

A number of NFL players have since protested, leading to talks between franchise owners and league officials and drawing criticism from US President Donald Trump.
