Guests will have the chance to be in the driver seat and experience the New Jaguar E-PACE for themselves in a timed activity, or they can get in the passenger seat with one of Jaguar's certified instructors. The vehicle has a 90-kilowatt battery that powers the engine for up to 240 miles (only slightly less than the 295-mile range of the Tesla Model X.) The I-PACE will be shown at the New York International Auto Show later this month and will be available in the US during the second half of this year. Comparisons are done with regards to the relative value of both electric vehicles, with the goal of informing potential buyers. Compare this to the Tesla electric SUV, the Model X, which starts around $82,000. The Jaguar I-Pace reportedly costs $10,000 less than the 75D. The I-Pace is rated at a 240-mile range when fully charged, Jaguar says. The Model X 75D takes 4.9 seconds to achieve the same speed.

The I-Pace is eligible for a $7,500 federal income-tax credit, as well as a $2,500 and $2,000 purchase rebates in California and NY respectively. Of course, the I-Pace's range advantage is due in part to it having a higher-capacity battery pack and being smaller overall.

Using a 100-kW DC fast charger, the battery of the Jaguar I-Pace can be charged up to 80 percent in 40 minutes.

If you need more performance or range, of course, Tesla is happy to oblige: the $96,000 Model X 100D will reach 60 miles per hour in a claimed 4.7 seconds and travels 295 miles per charge, while the $140,000 P100D does the deed in just 2.9 seconds and manages 289 miles. A first edition model in the HSE will also be available.
