Luke Cage Season 2 Teaser Trailer Reveals Release Date

Almost. EW can reveal the indestructible Defender and ex-con will return in about three months - on June 22, to be exact - when the second season of his solo series, Marvel's Luke Cage, hits Netflix. He'll face off against a new formidable foe this time around which forces Cage to confront the fine line between a hero and a villain.

Luke Cage arrived on Netflix in 2016 as part of the streaming site's ambitious slate of Marvel TV series. The question is whether or not Netflix can maintain those strengths while expanding beyond familiar territory.

Netflix confirmed the premiere date with a short video featuring Colter as Luke Cage. Are you excited for more Luke Cage? Watch the release date announcement promo, and check out some Luke Cage season two photos, below. Members can watch as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, on almost any internet-connected screen.

In the voice over, Cage-played by Mike Colter-explains "you can't burn me.you can't blast me.and you definitely can't break me". Marvel's "Luke Cage" will again fight crime in NY as a hero for hire. Another picture confirmed that Misty Knight (Simone Missick) would get her bionic arm after her human one was shot at the end of last season.

This season is being helmed by Cheo Hodari Coker with Jim Chory and Jeph Loeb on board as executive producers. Season two of Jessica Jones premieres on Friday, and we're hoping there's at least a little crossover between the two series. The first episode is directed by Lucy Liu.
