Packers QB Brett Hundley could be available for Cardinals via trade

Randall's three-year tenure was the shortest for a Packers first-round pick since 2004 first-round selection cornerback Ahmad Carroll, who lasted just two full seasons.

In truth, Kizer's days appeared numbered in Cleveland as the team was expected to target a veteran in free agency - before getting Taylor, that is - and the Browns will likely use the No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft on a QB.

As Ian Rapoport of NFL Network makes mention on Twitter, the Pack move up in both the fourth and fifth round via the DeShone Kizer deal. Hundley showed flashes with a couple of late game rallies and a solid performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Packers sent Randall to the Browns in a rather odd approach shortly before free agency.

After Randall and Rollins, the Packers took Ty Montgomery in the third round with pick No. 94 and linebacker Jake Ryan at No. 129 overall in the fourth round.

Trades can not become official until the start of the new league year on March 14. McCarthy stood by him, however, and the coach's patience seemingly paid off as Randall bounced back and played well in the weeks that followed. Three of those TDs were in the overtime loss to the Packers last December. Randall was entering a contract year, and had his play improved significantly, the Packers might have been compelled to give him long-term money. If he hopes to be the number two option in Green Bay next season, Hundley will have to compete with Kizer for that opportunity. However, his stock plummeted when he was thrust into the starting lineup after Rodgers suffered a broken collarbone.

But Kizer needed time to develop. Hundley was atrocious a year ago for the Packers, scuttling their playoff chances.

Taylor steps in as the most accomplished quarterback the Browns have had on their team in years.

The Vikings continued the build of their defense in that draft with the selections cornerback Trae Waynes, linebacker Eric Kendricks and defensive end Danielle Hunter.

Now, Green Bay is back where it was in 2015.

Granted, Taylor is better than what the Browns have had at quarterback for quite a while.

The move is an interesting one for new general manager Brian Gutekunst.
