Waffle House Teen Helps Elderly Customer, Goes Viral

Wolf's post went viral and received thousands of likes and comments that praised Williams for her act of kindness.

A Texas Waffle House employee is being rewarded for her act of kindness towards a customer that was caught on camera.

"I don't know her name but I heard this elderly man tell her his hands don't work too good", Wolf wrote on Facebook March 3. It was then, "without hesitation", that Williams took the plate from the struggling customer, IDed as 78-year-old Adrien Charpentier, and started to cut his meat.

Williams, who wants to study business management, broke down in tears as she was given the money.

Even though Evoni was extremely busy, she didn't hesitate. With the caption, "This may seem small but to him, I'm sure it was huge", she posted the photo which quickly went viral.

Williams told the Chronicle that she was unaware that Wolf took the picture and posted it on Facebook until several hours later when others saw it trending on social media. I'm thankful to have seen this act of kindness and caring at the start of my day while everything in this world seems so negative.

"Getting my own day". Williams said she is working at Waffle House to save up for college. Williams said the man is a regular customer, but this was his first time back after a trip to the hospital.

"I was never raised to bash people", she said.

Not just the scholarship, La Marque Mayor Bobby Hocking also handed over a proclamation in an emotional ceremony - that dedicated a day to her and said that - March 8 will be now known as "Evoni "NeeNee" Williams Day" in La Marque.
