Fortnite Shows How Port-a-Fort Item Works

The description calls it a "new portable fort sprouts a quick defensive position upon impact". This is the update that will add the recently announced "Port-a-Fort" item that could shake things up significantly. Still, some users are complaining about Port-a-Fort, worrying that it is a gimmick created to support weak players. It will allow players to build a Fort with a click of a button, allowing them to defend themselves a lot easier. Building is one of the most crucial gameplay mechanics of Fortnite to master, but the Port-a-Fort is going to give players something else to think about.

However, if it seems as though the Port-a-Fort is breaking the game experience for other players, then Epic Games may decide to remove it later.

News that the game mode would be returning was seen in the "New Updates" pop-up that greets players in Fortnite.

After all, the Fortnite development team has temporarily removed weapons and items in the past, like the Boogie Bomb and the SMG, so it will likely do the same to address any potential balancing issues the Port-a-Fort may introduce to the game.

Port-a-Fort is demonstrated in the video below; the device resembles a glowing ball, which generates a full fort - with metal! - when used. It's slightly more plausible than a jetpack but further proof that Fortnite isn't exactly the serious man's battle royale game.

At the time of writing, Fortnite is the highest grossing application on iOS, having overtaken mobile titans such as Clash Royale and Candy Crush Saga.
