Cleanup underway a day after powerful storms pound Northeast

At least two people are dead and thousands of customers are without power Wednesday in CT after severe storms pounded the state. The girl and her mother had arrived at their house and were unloading their vehicle when the tree fell.

CT officials said men in New Fairfield and Danbury died in separate incidents when trees fell on their trucks, according to The Associated Press. An Eversource spokesman says it may take days to get power back to everyone. Her 3-year-old passenger did not appear to be injured.

Lightning strikes from the storms causes several fires in New Jersey and Massachusetts, AP said.
