Harrison Ford Crashes Alden Ehrenreich Interview for SOLO

Harrison Ford Crashes Alden Ehrenreich Interview for SOLO

The two actors represent the legendary Star Wars series, with Ford playing Han Solo in the 1970s and 1980s and Ehrenreich stepping into the role of Han Solo in the newly released movie, Solo: A Star Wars Story.

(Stay tuned for EW's own upcoming interview with Ehrenreich.) But the thrust of it was something Ford told us back when he was preparing to say goodbye to the role of Han Solo with The Force Awakens: Make it your own.

"Get outta my chair", Ford said to a unsuspecting Ehrenreich.

'He said if anyone asks tell them I told you everything you need to know and that you're not allowed to say a word, ' he says.

In an interview earlier this year with Entertainment Weekly, Ehrenreich revealed that Ford's advice to him was pretty simple: "Tell them I told you everything you needed to know, and that you can't tell anyone". "Because he's.' And I was like, 'Well.' [The interviewer replied] 'Well you have your chance.' And he was behind me". Having seen the film, I can tell you that Bettany was definitely having a blast with the role and you guys are in for quite the treat.

'That is awesome.thanks for dropping by, ' Ehrenreich adds. "And he'll say, 'give me a minute.' I came on set really quickly and he whispered 'oligarch" in my ear, and I'm like 'got it!' It was just lovely to play somebody, having come from Avengers where Vision is fundamentally good, just somebody who is deliciously bad and really just okay with it. Ron Howard finished the film after original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were fired. The attendees appeared to enjoy the film, and the "crowd seemed to be won over" by Ehrenreich and his portrayal of the iconic Han Solo character.

Ford's support didn't stop there, as Ehrenreich bumped into him prior to this press conference.

Solo: A Star Wars Story hits theaters May 25, fittingly on the 41-year anniversary of the original film's debut in 1977.
