Houthi Rebels Kill Five People In Yemen

Since March 2015, the Saudi-led military campaign against Yemen has left almost 10,000 people dead, tens of thousands wounded, and millions on the brink of starvation in what the United Nations has called the "world's worst humanitarian crisis".

On Monday, a source told Sputnik that the Saudi-led coalition had attacked the Yemeni presidential office in Sanaa while head of Yemen's Supreme Political Council Mahdi Mashat, who also happens to be one of Ansar Allah's leaders, was still in the building. "Adherence to the laws of war is not optional".

Residents of Yemen's capital say airstrikes by the Saudi-led coalition have hit the presidential palace in Sanaa, causing causalities.

Houthi rebels in Yemen claim to have fired two ballistic missiles toward an oil facility in the southern Saudi city of Jizan, close to the border with Yemen, Houthi-controlled Saba news agency reports.

Yemen's policy of targeting only Saudi Arabia's economic facilities and state-run airports and its refusal to attack civilian areas signifies that the Yemeni forces respect moral and human values, the commander explained. It says at least six people are dead and 30 have been wounded. They say some of the strikes hit the presidency, located in the busy commercial district of Tahrir.

"We were working next door to the presidential offices and heard a plane, and then an explosion", Ahmed Dehashir, a first responder, said at the scene of the attack.

His tweet in Arabic carried the hashtag #Houthi_Iranian_Terrorism and data released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that said the Houthis in Yemen have launched 132 missiles and 66,298 projectiles towards Saudi Arabia. Since November 2017 Houthi Ansarullah movement has intensified missile attacks into Saudi Arabia.

The conflict has left almost 10,000 people dead, tens of thousands wounded, and millions on the brink of starvation in what the United Nations has called the world's worst humanitarian crisis.
