She stumbled to start the front, making double bogey on No. 1, but closed strong with birdies on No. 6 and No. 9 to log her second straight round of par or better.

The junior broke through with her first birdie at the 5th as she landed her approach just a few feet from the pin for an easy tap-in putt. The second place finisher was Florida State at 25-under, followed by No. 7 ranked Furman at 18-under.

"We hung in there", Auburn head coach Melissa Luellen said. She finishes her season with a 74.38 stroke average, the fourth-best in history for a Texas A&M freshman. I think this was a good golf course for us because we drive the ball where we want to most of the time.

Joining UVa in the NCAA Championship field from the Madison Regional are No. 4 Duke (-14/851), No. 6 USC (-2/861), No. 12 Arizona State (-1/863), No. 44 Ohio State (-1/863) and No. 13 Northwestern (E/864).

The Aggies moved up from ninth place to start the day, to a four-way tie for fourth, which would force a four team playoff for three spots at the NCAA Championship, if the tournament ended after 36 holes. That left the two teams tied at the end of regulation, so they went to a one-hole team playoff. The National Finals will take place May 18-23 in Stillwater, OK.

Austin native Morgan Lay had three birdies as she shot a 5-over 77 at the University of Texas Golf Club, tying for 70. Geer was 1-under-par at the midway point and finished at 1-over-par 73, while Marfa Sans was 3-over-par at the turn but shaved two strokes on the back nine with the help of three birdies.

She struggled in her final round, as she battled rain and wind, but a third round score of 3-over, 75, was enough to put her at tied for seventh overall.

The Tigers shot 291 (+3) as a team today and are at 583 (+7) for the tournament and in eighth place. For whatever reason, we just didn't get it done.

The final round of NCAA Regional play gets underway at 8 a.m. CT Wednesday.
